I have been a working artist since childhood. After attending art school in Portland, Oregon, I worked as a graphic designer, illustrator, applied artist and fine arts painter for all of my life. After a 2 year hiatus to overcome vision problems, I have spent the past 10 years concentrating solely on fine art painting, primarily contemporary urban life with a Portland centric emphasis.

My experience in advertising, putting words and images together, adds to the intimate narrative that underlies my work. Although my painting is representational, I feel the colors, shapes and form of the paint are essential to the nature of the story, imparting the feel as well as the look of a subject.

As a dedicated artist, I continually strive to evolve, develop relevance and maintain a consistent artistic style creating a sustainable, cohesive body of work.
